Present Continous/ Progressive Tense


1.       Present Perfect Continous/Progressive Tense
The present perfect continous tense is used to indicate the duration of an activity that began in the past and continues to the present. When the tense has this meaning, it is used with the time words such as for, since, all morning, all day, all week.
Pattern
(+)  S + have/has + been + V ing + O
(-)   S + have/has + not + been + V ing + O
(?)  Have/has + S + been + V ing + O
7 pm                   8 pm(now)-----------
I have been studying since 7 o’clock.            Right now, I am sitting at my desk, studying.
I  have been studying for one hour.
                                                                                                                              



Examples :
·         It has been raining all day. It is still raining right now.
·         I have been working at Bali Dynasty for four years.
Ade is talking on the phone. He has been talking on the phone for over  a half an hour
